Feb. 14, 1974: The Mon Wharf has long been a treacherous place to park vehicles with faulty brakes. In our archive, we found the photographic evidence — at least half a dozen pictures of automobiles in the drink. This unoccupied luxury car had been parked on a section of the wharf that had no barrier to keep vehicles from rolling into the Monongahela River. The car’s owner wasn’t identified.
